Jan Watson is trained in Iyengar Yoga Methodology; precision and alignment inspires her teaching.

Precision is the correct placement of the different body parts. It’s which joint/muscle to move and in which direction and also what to soften.

Alignment is with bones, joints, muscles and tendons – the inner feeling; with neither over-activating nor under-activating so that nothing pokes in and nothing pokes out.

Timing; it is equally important to go into a pose, stay in a pose and come out of a pose, thoughtfully.

Modification of poses are taught when needed; the use of props is one of the a hall marks of Iyengar Yoga; this is not to relax or be lazy but to get the pose to work.

Jan gives firm, yet gentle adjustments …to help you ‘feel’ the correct position and so tap into the stability and balance of practice.
